Hello campers and family!
I wanted to give you an update on Front Range Camping. We have the dates reserved for camp to be at Quaker Ridge Camp and Conference Center for July 17th – 23rd, 2022. We can’t wait to be back in the mountains together enjoying the hiking, team challenges, crazy activities our coordinators plan, and so much more. Registration will open no later than April 1st, 2022. Our theme for camp this Summer is EMPOWER! We will be talking about the power in us which empowers us to love, serve, give, forgive, and bless others.
Secondly, our long time fearless leader Mike Oldham is moving into a new role with the American Baptist Churches of the Rocky Mountains. He will be taking over the role as Region Administrator. Sadly, he will not be at camp for the whole week. You will still get to see him at the beginning and end, but not during the week. He has been a great camp director with is crazy ideas that come to life, empathy for campers and staff, and leader development of the camp staff. Mike will be amazing at the role he is moving into, but he will be missed at Front Range Camp.
So, for those of you who do not know me my name is Lauren Parliament. I am on staff with American Baptist Churches of the Rocky Mountains with the main task of developing the next generations. I have been co-directing with Mike the past three years at Front Range Camp, and this summer I will be taking over as director. I am excited about this part of my job because I have a huge passion for camp and how it can be a tool for growth in faith, leadership, and community in young people.
Here are a few things about myself to get to know me. First, I love the outdoors including, hiking, climbing, snow-shoeing, running, camping, and so much more. Second, my favorite sport is soccer. I am a former pro-referee and currently still referee soccer at the top collegiate levels. I played soccer in college and loved every minute of it. Third, my motto for my home is “gather around my table.” I love having friends, family, and neighbors over to share food, play games, and chat.
Enough about me, I am looking forward to this Summer and our time together at camp!
